Decolonized: The Matriarchs celebrates the profound legacy of Black and Native American women—the original architects of our cultural landscape. Through a powerful blend of live performance, archival visuals, and historical storytelling, this "performance-lecture" examines how Indigenous and Black artistry has been influenced, misappropriated, and ultimately reclaimed. This isn't just a concert; it is a cultural masterclass designed to challenge, inspire, and honor the matriarchs who paved the way.

Part of the intimate “Live in the Lounge” performance series, Stagebound, Inc., Presents, in partnership with NATS-LA (National Association of Teachers of Singing – Los Angeles), In Her Key at the historic Ebell of Los Angeles, a cultural venue that centers its programming around women’s stories, arts, and education.

Stagebound, Inc., founded in 2002, is a multi-faceted performance and production company dedicated to cultivating world-class, career-ready artists. As the brainchild of trailblazer Karen Parks—an International Performer, Billboard chart-topper, and Fulbright Scholar—Stagebound integrates proven technique with high-level industry knowledge. We fulfill our mission by offering an array of workshops, seminars, and intensive vocal and performance coaching across all major genres, ensuring aspiring professionals of all ages grow and thrive in a nurturing, yet fiercely professional environment.
With more than two decades of experience, Stagebound has directly changed the trajectory of countless performers, catapulting our clients to acclaimed professional roles on Broadway, off-Broadway, national tours, and in major film and television productions. We produce highly coveted showcases and provide concierge-level services, including private vocal instruction, group master classes, and professional consulting. This success is driven by Karen Parks’ unique expertise as a Performance Coach and Vocal Specialist, offering an organic perspective that meets the needs of performers, directors, and producers across the entertainment spectrum.
