Client Testimonial: "She is always the first person I call…"

Karen is the most supportive teacher I’ve ever met. Across the board, Karen goes out of her way to be there for her students in ways that extend past her job description. Karen attended every single one of my college productions. Before auditions, Karen meets with me and other students virtually and in person (sometimes late notice and at her own inconvenience) to go over the audition materials. All of my career highlights during the past 8 years: Recently joining the Tony Award Winning Productions of Purpose on Broadway and Hadestown on Broadway as a cast member, getting signed to Walt Disney Records as a vocalist in DCappella, recording 4 tracks on the Incredibles 2 soundtrack, performing as a guest artist on American Idol, and headlining at Carnegie Hall, I owe in part to Karen’s unwavering support and training. She is always the first person I call right after calling family when any opportunity or success presents itself.

About Jelani

Jelani alladin…

is a dynamic American actor, singer, and dancer whose performances on Broadway and beyond have garnered both critical praise and enthusiastic audiences. Born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn, he honed his craft while at high school in New Canaan, Connecticut, and trained at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.

His Broadway breakthrough came when he originated the role of Kristoff in the stage adaptation of Frozen, giving voice—and personality—to a role beloved from the animated film. After Frozen, he continued stretching his range: he went on to play the title role in Hercules in Public Works’ staging, and has been a standout in Off‑Broadway and regional theatre—including Choir Boy, Sweetee, The History Boys, Violet, and Josephine.

Alladin’s work also includes the screen, most notably in the miniseries Fellow Travelers, where he played Marcus Gaines. Known for his vocal power, stage presence, and his commitment to roles that deepen representation, Alladin pushes beyond traditional boundaries—as he once put it, casting shouldn’t ignore the authenticity that someone’s identity brings to a part.

If you are looking for a teacher to take your craft and understanding of your instrument to the next level, look no further! At a time where I was feeling most insecure about my abilities Karen came into my life and totally changed the way I produce sound. Her breathing techniques are critical to anyone interested in having a sustained career as a singer. Her ability to breakdown material, personalize technique to the individual, open range, and do it all with a warm heart is UNPARALLELED! I am telling you with all seriousness, she is no joke! I am a professional actor and singer and have been coached by Karen for Broadway auditions that I have received callbacks and final callbacks for! She is truly incredible.
